I currently run a 4-division, 20-team, DH, solitaire league, with 40-man rosters. I'd like to expand one team per division and get up to 24 teams -
I'd not done that earlier due to my perception that the AI didn't deal well with roster handing, but...I'd like to try and make that work....so
I'm looking for suggestions from those who've done similar things (expansion) or who run 24+ team leagues vs 20.
1) 25-man rosters, the AI had trouble with...but 40 just seems "too much" - I feel like it takes away strategy as there's almost always a good response to any move you make. What roster sizes have people found to be optimal, where the AI can still find players not over their usage levels?
2) To expand from 20 to 24 teams...how would you handle the expansion draft - how many players would you allow each team to protect? Any other restrictions (like how many pitchers, catchers, etc can be protected?)
