The Countdown begins.
On September 15th, Boothby Marsh was idle. But over in Kinney Shores, good things were happening as Kinney Shores Catcher Jake Early singled home Ted Williams with the go-ahead run and Tom Seats pitched out of a jam in the 9th for his 25th save (behind Charlie Root's league-leading 26 saves) and Medway Island lost 5-4. That reduced the Boothby Marsh "magic number" to 10. Any combination of Boothby Marsh wins and Medway island losses would bring a division title to Boothby Marsh … and a date with Etna Center (already clinched over in the East) in the Championship Series.

Scoreboard watching was in vogue for the home town fans and their eyes were happy as Kinney Shores' Ted Williams tripled in Joe Medwick with the winning run to send Medway Island to yet another defeat. The division lead was 5 ½ with 13 games to play.MAGIC NUMBER = 8
