I'm busy working on the ratings.

If you are working on the rating, I will put in what is becoming my annual plug to rate Mark DeRosa at SS! Having Martin Prado qualify at SS would also help
me out big time.

Hopes for DeRosa are not high...but the fact that he has been rated at SS in the past keeps them afloat. I remember reading that previous history playing the
position does have some impact on position ratings.
I do feel safe with Prado. He is going to be a pretty nice offensive-oriented utility player for one of my league teams. |

I'm wondering about Micah Owings with the Reds. He made 4 pinch hitting appearances but didn't pitch for them. Will he have a pitching rating with the
Reds?

How could he? |

timz wrote:DMB often gives a guy a rating on a position he may have played on another team when he is traded and does not appear in the field. The exception is DH's. I'm curious about how they will handle this. An example is Jeff Clement of Seattle. In 2007 he did not appear in the field, but was given rating of fr at catcher. |

Thats why you're the best Luke.

Oh, I dunno, I think the best Luke (non-biblical category) is still

And then there's Lucky Luke:

Pitching performance is not represented by a rating, but by an event table based on actual statistical performance. With no actual pitching performance as a Red how do you create an event table for him? I suppose you could argue that AL pitchers who don't actually bat due to the DH are represented by a generic pitcher's batting event table and position players who are brought in to pitch in a blowout are represented by a generic non-pitcher's pitching event table, but neither seems to be entirely apt. I don't think there's a generic pitching event table for *pitchers* that didn't pitch. The obvious solution is to use his overall performance for both teams, actually trading him from Arizona to Cincinnati. But if you are one of the people that believe that it's appropriate to distinguish a player's performance for one team during the season as entirely separate from his performance for another team, aren't you bound by that position to accept the fact that because Micah Owings didn't pitch for Cincinnati, he can't pitch for Cincinnati? |

The kind that once you start watching it, fascination with the primary characters makes it impossible to turn it off. 3. L. Kramer. DMB Luke should be proud that he's listed in such company. No pressure, m'man. |

timz wrote: I know this is a stretch, but let's say and the end of the season, the Reds get into a long game, say 18 innings, and their last available pitcher gets removed after a rain delay. You have two guys left on the bench, Owings and Javier Valentin. Who would you put in to pitch? Obviously Owings, but should he be subject to the generic "fielder into pitch" event table? He would be a better pitcher than that. I guess I'll know the answer in a month.

My preference would be to always use the composite player. I would never use the team-specific versions. That would allow Owings to perform as a pitcher for the Reds, should you choose to use him, pretty much in line with how he pitched last year. |

Well, we do know he can post 50 posts!

50 posts?
I think you could get 100 of those in the screen time that the egg scene took |
