I just got DMB a few days ago, so sorry if this has been brought up before. I've been running Trilogy to find two specific kinds of streaks:
most consecutive base hits
most consecutive times reaching base safely (via hit/bb/hbp)
But Trilogy seems to be giving me erroneous output sometimes. For instance, Boog Powell had 12 straight base hits with two walks interspersed in there. But
Trilogy says he only reached safely in 12 straight times (not 14 like it should be), and it shows him with only 6 straight hits.
I think the problem is this: Trilogy is saying that a walk breaks a consecutive at-bat hit streak; the MLB rules say that walks shouldn't break such a
streak. I'm not sure why it says he only reached base 12 straight times when it was 14, though. It seems to produce accurate results for other streaks
that I've checked, but it seems unlikely that there's some random reason why Powell would get screwed up while no other player is.
Any ideas?
