Hey everyone - thanks for all the great posts on this one!

Hopefully DMB will read these posts and take it all into account - for me it's pretty simple:

1) I'm not going to buy version 10 if it is e-license, plain and simple I want a CD or an email delivering me the version and season data that I can save to a disk. If the leagues I am in want to go to version 10 I will oppose it and likely just go to a different product or a league playing past seasons in version 9.

2) I love DMB and don't want to leave it, from now until I'm six feet under I'll buy at least one season disk per year and every new version that comes out.....if it is on CD. AND, I actually couldn't care less if we get a version 10 or not - I think version 9 is already sweet. I'll buy whatever new version comes out (only if on CD) but it doesn't matter to me if version 9 is the best it ever gets, cause that's a whole lot easier then sitting rolling strat dice, or flipping my FAC cards for the manual Statis Pro 1983 replay I'm currently doing!

3) Like others have mentioned, I'll pay extra to get a CD - heck tack $5 or $10 onto my price per season, I'll pay it as it's a great game and great deal still. I'll also gladly pay an extra $20 or $30 for the version 10, if it's on a CD and I don't have to do e-store to access the game when I want too.

I do understand the risk from DMB's perspective.....I'm sure there are leagues out there that buy one disk and share it, I hate the thought of that and anyone doing that should be ashamed, but come on, if it goes the e-method those people are still going to figure out some way to cheat the system. What I do believe is that 99% of our league commisioners are awesome, honest guys, and many of them check with DMB to be sure there league members have purchased the disk. Again, I'm willing to pay a few extra bucks for the hard copy CD if that will help offset the lost income from those who are going to find a way to cheat the system and steal the game one way or the other. Think about this, if a lot of us wont' go to version 10 in the e-format, DMB loses a ton of revenue, because a bunch of us will stay on version 9 and not purchase 10 at all. Plus, I would have to think the community would just start creating their own homebrew season disks year by year that work for version 9 - i.e. DMB ends up with 0 sales on those......that doesn't seem totally ethical to me so I'd personally probably participate in that but pay the e-store for a version 10 season disk each year then just never use it, just so I felt like I was paying the company for a product they own intellectual rights too and should get some compensation for.

I think to sum up all the posts I've read - what we really want as a DMB community is give us a version 10 on CD, with season disks on CD just like in the past and don't change anything else......oh, and bring Pat back!!!!
