When I first switched from Strat-o-matic to DMB, the forces that pushed me to want to leave SOM were:  1) their key-code security system and 2) poor customer service.  DMB had no such security system, and their customer service was great.  Now, DMB's staff is cutbare-boned, which can't be a good sign for customer service, and this new ELicense is WORSE than SOM's...at least with SOM, I have the CD and the paper with the license key in my hand and control my own destiny.

When someone said that this ELicense thing is NOT a "security anti-piracy" thing and instead is simply a distribution mechanism due to low staffing, I was curious...so I talked to a buddy of mine who, as a side-business, does CD/DVD printing/distribution.  For scale comparison, he's currently printing/wrapping/mailing a dvd set for someone, 7,000 copies.  So I asked him what he'd charge for a job like burning/wrapping/shipping a game like DMB...he figured on the high end, it'd be maybe $3 a copy + the shipping cost.  Personally, I'd be content paying $10 more for something like DMB, if it meant getting the CD in my hand, and not having to deal with something like ELicense.  At this point, I'm trying to be patient and see where all this goes....but for now, my feeling is that I'll stick with V9, or switch back to SOM since ELicense strikes me as worse than SOM's licensing headaches.  Even just on principle, this new change feels wrong.
