Anyone besides me remember the APBA 1959 Don Drysdale card?
No, but I remember the 1966 Joe Hoerner (1 home run in 8 at bats) with "1"s on 66, 11 and 33. Talk about small sample size . . . . He made more than a few pinch hit appearances in our leagues when his team was down in the late innings and had runners on base.

P.S. In looking at Drysdale's stats I expect you're actually thinking of 1958 when he hit 7 homers in 72 at bats. He must really have been conflicted over the move to the L.A. Coliseum -- his ERA went from 2.69 in 1957 to 4.17 in 1958 on the one hand, but on the other I bet it was a kick for him hitting all those home runs.

If you really want to be impressed with Drysdale's hitting check out 1965 when he hit .300 with 7 home runs and a .508 slugging percentage . . . in Dodger Stadium in the mid-60s. That's impressive!
