Redwood City Peppers: Redwood City boasts the largest population in the circuit. Ownership is intent on building a winner. They are the most financially sound franchise as the new league gets under way. They play in a large stadium that looks better suited for football, but ownership doesn't mind. They are expecting to draw the largest crowds in the league despite the frequent afternoon rains in Redwood City. Their Manager is Shorty Baxter. He is an old school, hard nosed baseball man.
Rockport Clippers: The Rockport owner was the driving force behind the new league. He recruited and organized the other owners. The Clippers play in a very old stadium, but the fans love it. The fans are right on top of the action. Left hand hitters love to take aim at the street behind the RF wall. The wall itself is concave, with the top half being vertical with a screen on top. Their is also a large scoreboard jutting out from the RF wall. All the odd angles make for some tricky caroms for the right fielders to deal with. Hatrack Hines is the skipper. Hatrick was a veteran player of many long ago pro seasons. The players of today respect Hatrack for his abilities as a player and a manager. Although he interacts well with the players of today, Hatrack can't help but feel he is different from them in some way. He feels like it is something more than just generational, but he can't put his finger on it.
Brockway Knights: The excitement around Brockway was readily apparent. This was a town that was excited to have pro baseball. The owner of the Knights is somewhat of a showman. He even went as far as to have and actual train engine installed on tracks high on the top of the wall above left field. Word is he is going to have it driven along the wall after each Knights homerun. Bugsy May was brought in to be the first manager of the Knights. He is a veteran manager who was hired away from a team in a league out west.
Moxley Shamrocks: Moxley enjoys some of the best weather in the league. They are expecting good crowds as the weather is almost always perfect for baseball. Their home ballpark is modern. The outfield is spacious and the Shamrocks pitchers are going to enjoy calling it home. Managing the Shamrocks will be Gus Powell. Gus is a big strong guy, but off the field he usually has a smile on his face. He is a players manager.
Elkton Panthers: Elkton is going to play in a stadium that was converted from a track and field venue. After an extensive renovation, most people would not be able to guess its original use if they did not already know. It has a rather cookie cutter shape to the playing field, except in RF where the wall runs in a straight line to right center where it meets the curving portion of the fence. The Elkton Manager will be Wayne Jackson. Jackson is maybe the smartest manager in the league. Some wonder if Jackson even really wants to be a baseball manager. They could not be more wrong. However, unlike many baseball people, he could have chosen any number of well paying career paths. He is here because he wants to be, although he maintains many interests outside of baseball.
Harbor Robins: Harbor is arguably the most beautiful spot in the league. Their ballpark is also equally stunning. It was built right along the water and long blasts to RF can find their way into the drink. The ownership of the Robins took a chance and hired a first time manager. Casey Brooks will be the youngest manager in the league by far. In fact, based on his age, he could still be a player. Casey is one of those people everyone likes. He is very outgoing, the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. Even though he is young and unproven, his ownership is convinced he has a world of potential. They are certain he is destined for greatness.
