Now, does anyone thing ANY of these guys are Hall of Famers by ANY definition??? Yet some member of the BBWA voted for them, and in some cases up to 4. Jim Eisenreich got THREE votes. Make it an open process and fix it that any joker that votes for players of this calibre LOSE their ballot.

Who'd think some of these players would recieve more votes than the current $$ value of their rookie cards. ... I remember when the Travis Fryman rookie card was a hot commodity ... I'm guessing John Kruk's lifetime BA/OBP would be impressive. Best career: Charlie Hough, Dave Henderson? The guy on here i'd say who showed the most promise of a hall of fame career was Eric the Red, around '86-'90 he looked poised to have a massive career. My baseball cards and DMB play of the early 80's says the same of Lonnie Smith in his first few years ... How many votes did Orel Hershiser receive in his last season of eligibility? Too bad he got injured in 1990, he was poised for a HOF career as well. Pitching in the homer-happy mid-late 90's didn't help his career numbers either.
