Whatever writer voted for David Segui should be stripped of their vote.
I was just going to post that same thing. Not only that, but TWO guys voted for Eric Karros and Edgar Martinez had more votes than Raines. I like Edgar a lot, he was just a great hitter, but c'mon!

Edgar batted 312/418/515 with 514-2b, 15-3b, 309-HR
Raines was 294/385/425 with 430-2b, 113-3b, 170HR and 808 SB

in top 10 categories

Edgar 7 time all star....Raines 7 time all star
Edgar top 10 Mvp: twice...Raines 3 times
Edgar top 10 in AVG: 7 times...Raines 4 times
Edgar top 10 in OBA: 11 times...Raines 7 times
Edgar top 10 in SLG: 6 times...Raines 1 time
Edgar top 10 in 2b: 5 times...Raines 3 times
Edgar top 10 in HR: once
Raines top 10 in 3B: 9 times
Edgar top 10 in hits: 3 times...Raines 6
Raines top 10 in SB: 11 times 5th all time

Plus Edgar was a DH most of his career, while Raines played a decent to good OF.

So explain how he ends up with 31 LESS votes!?!?image
