. . . I did a fairly accurate accounting on my most recent completed replay (2004), and the first five months of the season (through the end of August) required about 460 days. Since that was 2,088 games, that's an average of 4.54 per day. That's playing every inning of every game, plus about 30-45 minutes of preparation for each three-game series. The reason I didn't count September was that it took far longer to play, with all the call-ups and matching of statistics (if a relief pitcher has 60 appearances and 65 IP, that's what he'll have in the replay, etc.). And, yes, I am retired.
