Pretty sure Dayne said the PC game had been advertised in various places.
I can't find it in the chat, but that may be so. I don't recall ever seeing it advertised on any of the baseball sites that I visit, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I don't think you are ever going to get that sort of information or exactly how much was spent on certain advertising.
I'm not concerned with that information, actually. Granted, I wouldn't mind knowing, say, what percentage of advertising during the first year after DM was purchased was dedicated to the PC game exclusively, and/or in conjunction with the on-line game, but actual costs don't matter.
I'm not sure why it couldn't be advertised together but I'm imagine there could be additional costs depending on the form of the add. If it's a print add for example, that could double the size of the add thus increasing the cost.
It doesn't even need to be at that level. Just put a mention of the PC version somewhere in the ad -- it could be as little as a line or two. If there was a viable website, it could be just a tag line, reading "PC version also available -- see www.imaginesports.com/dmbpc". Not that hard, and the expense of doing that would be minimal at worst.
I'm pretty happy to see season/projection disks will continue
As am I. I am just disappointed to know that continued improvement to the PC game engine will be minimal at best, and that the chances that my wife will be able to ever play the game, or that I will be able to play the game without having to take frequent breaks from trying to read many of the interfaces have evaporated.
