Ted, you are right about the ill will towards Dayne being minimal. There was some residual frustration about the snail's pace of development in the game and that was the biggest negative at the time. People were anxious about the game's future. Then when people looked at the on-line connection they got more nervous about the future of the PC game. There were some assurances made and a couple bones thrown the way of the PC gamers
Fast-forwarding, Dayne was on this board less and less all the while maintaining a constant presence of the online board. Not long after that Luke was move to a different responsibility and the last major connection with DMB was severed and this board was allowed to drift.

BTW. were you on the forum when a big Dayne supporter was exposed as an IS employee?

He was chastised afterwards and reappeared with a DMB nickname, but I don't think he's still around.

That is not the way to get people on your side, but importing cheerleaders.

Looking back I don't think that Dayne consciously lied, but I think he promised things he later found he was unable to deliver. Instead of manning up he folded his tent.

BTW, I need to add this. Coming into chat last night was a horrible idea on Dayne's part. He already promised a chat and also a forum follow-up to questions we submitted here. He should have left it at that. Chats as a whole are poor communication tools since everyone is talking at once.
