In the '78 replay i did the AL pitchers marginally outhit their NL counterparts. Kind of sounds like it shouldn't be that way, but then again if there wasn't a DH the AL pitchers would be preparing to hit like their NL counterparts, so it's probably realistic within the context.

Yes some DH's will lose their role, but it's always good to have an extra bat on the bench without the DH rule, and it adds a bit of fun to reshuffle a team's lineup because now you have to put Yaz at 1st or Staub in right etc. . Those late 70's O's teams though, where does Lee May go with Eddie Murray at 1B? I traded him to Seattle for some innings eaters .. which reminds me that several AL teams won't have the depth in the pen - Baltimore again, if you're replaying '78 (which i think i read elsewhere you were) is burned in particular. Earl Weaver must've kept a short bench, or no one got hurt, or both, those O's rosters are pretty lean for NL-style play.
