My take from the chat:
1) More time will be spent on the on-line games because that pays the bills. That means, by definition, the PC game updates must take second fiddle. That's just the way it has to be, so no one has a legitimate beef anymore about upgrades, deluxe seasons etal. They'll get to it as soon as they can with, hopefully, judicious allocation of limited resources, as any business has to do.
2) More money from on-line means more opportunity to build internal resources. Someone has to be able to program the entire engine when Mr. Tippett calls it quits. Dayne also indicated that the current code is becoming antiquated. Fundamentally re-coding the game engine for current technology is going to cost a bundle, so more resources will enable them to get to PC game upgrades faster and ensure the game lives on.
3) Wouldn't everyone benefit by postponing all work on classic and deluxe seasons and focus available time and resources on V10 first? This would be a benefit to every PC customer and the on-line games, and make the playing of past seasons that much more enjoyable.
