...as a mater of fact! In my '68 replays, there have been (too many but, like managers of the sixties, and I leave the MP's "as is" outa the box from DMB to mimic most life like use by human managers...) a LOT of instances of the CM leaving starting pitchers in beyond 120-130-140 pitches, then, BOOM (!) those tired pitchers get racked in last couple innings...see my "thread(s) on METS '68 replays for more insight. 16 runs total in 9th inning of last four games probably would NOT have all scored if relief was brought in earlier, and each of the teams DID have 1 or more pitchers "available" for the CM...

DMB: So GOOD, you can mange w/ today's philosophy, yesterday...But, it's still: "a round bat, a round ball, and ya got to hit it square!"
