I thought about using the ZiPS DMB projections but almost everyone who has posted a reply so far has been against it. The most valid point was that there are no splits, just one projection across the board.

Would you or your fellow players know if ZiPS at least uses a standard (as opposed to actual) left/right differential for players, or if the split is exactly the same left and right?

Though I'm not 100% positive, I think it's exactly the same vs. left and right. Reason I say this is because I was playing a few games w/ the ZiPS and you'd see "Avg. vs all: .253" for pitchers, with the splits being blank. I still could be wrong though. It's the major downfall of ZiPS. It would be nice if PECOTA were put into DMB format since it looks like as others have stated the new ownership of DMB doesn't really care about this product anymore.

Cards, you are probably right, but I think the thing you're describing (game showing splits being blanked) is also what you will see when you use a created player in DMB using the overall method without an effort to use actual splits. Even so, as I understand things, the game still uses standard left/right splits in this situation. I could be wrong. But if that is the case, I wondered if it might not also be the case with ZiPS. If so, this might actually be a good thing for guys who don't like big splits (though I suspect they even out, where appropriate, over the 3-year periods DMB's projections are based on).
