Actually, DMB is doing simulating that by assigning a status (I, A or X) prior each game if you're playing without transactions. Look closer.

Actually this sort of makes the current situation worse. DMB deactivates players based on usage, but does NOT call someone up to replace said players, which means that a team is now using a roster SMALLER than 25 players, which is why we end up with pitchers being left in too long, or being taken out immediately after they come to the plate to hit.

In the current scheme of things, I have to manually go into each game, even though I only manually play one team and ensure that there are 25 active players for every single team because of the usage factors and if I want to play with injuries on as well, I either have to do all the real life transactions manually or accept not playing with injuries.

Usage of a 40-man roster real-life is an illusion. In the long run, DMB is giving us a more accurate simulation the way it is.

Sorry, gotta disagree here! Magic is an illusion, the 40 man roster is real! <G> What I feel this affects is when I am doing a replay and a team outperforms it's real life win percentage and ends up competing for a playoff spot, but because they didn't compete in real life, they didn't bother calling up a player or two that might help them win that crucial extra game.

Also, what about people who AREN'T doing exact replays, but more of a what-if scenario?

Spos... Shame on you! But I have 20 seasons of SOM doing that on my hard drive.

That's even worse! You can ebay those to pay for more DMB seasons! :)
