I must concur that I, too, was a former SOM player. The difference is that DMB got my attention from the moment I played it because of the pitch by pitch mode. Think about it. Batter by batter may make the games quicker, but that would be the same as watching a real baseball game where hitters take one swing to determine each outcome. It may be quicker, but it just ain't baseball. DMB is the only BASEBALL game because of the ability to concentrate on every pitch. There is no comparing the drama of falling behind in the count or getting ahead.

I also like the fact that DMB is so detailed. To me, a well designed game is measured by the level of detail that it contains. The odds change on every pitch count. That makes the pitch by pitch mode even more important and the reason I believe it is the only way to play the game. DMB never gets old and is always a blast.
