Could you tell us what the status is on the older season updates?

We have at least one upgraded past season that is sitting in my queue waiting to be tested. We have added transactions and game-by-game lineups to the 1972 Classic Past Season.

In the past, I've always wanted to test every season disk personally before approving them for shipment, but I've come to realize that I'm unnecessarily putting myself on the critical path and slowing their release.

After we meet our short-term goals, I'll be getting a couple of other people up to speed on the tools and techniques I've used to do those tests so we can expedite the release of upgraded past seasons.

Last fall, we also announced our intention to add the 1901 to 1926 seasons to our catalog. That's still on our list of things to do, but it hasn't advanced much beyond the planning stage.

To get these seasons done relatively quickly and at a high quality level, and to further upgrade our existing past seasons, we'll need to do things differently and/or better.

Using our old methods and tools, it would take at least six or eight years to complete that many seasons. That's not nearly fast enough, so I've been sketching out some new tools that we can use to accelerate the process.

By the way, Simnasium has two employees who are extremely knowledgable about baseball history -- they run rings around me when it comes to old-time players -- and when I make some headway on the tools, we'll be able to add their expertise to that of the existing Diamond Mind team and (if all goes well) pick up the pace of past season work.

But we need to get 9b and the other things I mentioned out the door first.
