Any info on what the CM enhancements will be?

It's hard to summarize the changes concisely, or even to remember everything I've done. Over time, I've made small improvements and fixes to several parts of the CM.

Most recently, I spent quite a bit of time working on relief pitching situations. The one that you'll notice the most, I think, is in getting the CM to be more aggressive about using the closer, especially when the closer tendency is set to one of the more frequent settings.

I believe I've also fixed a hole in the CM's logic concerning pinch hitting for the pitcher. In some situations that would normally be considered an obvious PH situation, the CM would let the pitcher bat for himself because it's an obvious sac bunt situation, too. Why burn a pinch hitter if you can just ask the pitcher to bunt the runners over. But if the pitcher bunted foul once or twice, the CM would sometimes take off the bunt sign and let the pitcher swing away, making it look silly for letting the pitcher bat in the first place.

I've also tried to make the CM a little smarter about double-switches when the team has the lead and defense is a priority.

There have been other changes, but those are the ones that come to mind at the moment.

And there's more CM work to be done, of course. I doubt I will ever consider the CM to be finished in my lifetime. While we might find time to get one or two more CM changes into 9b, our plan is to get the current set of improvements out the door as soon as possible rather than add to it. After 9b is released, we'll continue to work on the CM, and we'll package those improvements into a 9c patch (if one is needed down the road) or a version 10.
