Um, sorry, they are in last place in the NL Central, 20 games back. But that's a bit misleading: the Cards have a 90-58 record in first place, and, as things have panned out, the NL Central has been the toughest division, with the Brewers and Astros also playing very well. In fact, the Brewers are pretty much a lock as the wildcard team. The Reds have a 70-78 record, scoring 669 runs and giving up 689; so, not too bad. Arroyo's having a good season: 13-5 with a 3.09 ERA. I was hoping the Reds might mirror their real-life division/wildcard chase, but the competition in the NL Central has just been too tough.
